Join us in the summer for our Live From the Loading Dock – Parkside concert series. There is something is always something for everyone. The concerts are free to and open to anyone in Newport County. While food is provided, guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Performances take place in the Pocket Park across from the Edward Street entrances to the MLK Community Center. In the event of inclement weather, the concerts take place inside the Center. June 17  Your Favorite Color
Your Favorite color brings energy and excitement to the crowd with upbeat, rhythmic performances. With Duck Jones on vocals, John Pina on bass, Lou Dutton on the keys, and Tom Anger on Guitar, this band has over 30 years of music and entertainment experience. 
July 15  Chelley Knight and The Dope Things
Chelley knight is a local Newport vocalist known for her incredible range and scat solos. Chelley Knight and the Dope Things also features Christ Vaillancourt on guitar, Brendan Keogh on the bass, Time Lee on drums, John Gillespie on piano, and Chase Ceglie on saxophone. Inspired by jazz and blues, they perform soulful music and are a Newport favorite. 
August 19 The Ravers
The Ravers have been a Newport staple for 27 years and counting. In 1988, the reggae band started amongst a group of friends. While the band members are highly trained musicians, performing and teaching in esteemed locations like Roomful of Blues and Berklee College of Music, they continue to perform in Newport because of widespread community love and support. 
Camelia Latin Dance Band
Roderick Camelia is a professional musician and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. He is the bandleader of three Latin musical groups, Camelia Latin-Jazz Band, Camelia y Su Jazz Latino, and Camelia Latin Dance Band. The latter is a trio that specializes in Latin, danceable classics, and oldies.
