Donor Bill of Rights

As an independent non-profit, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center relies upon a diverse community of supporters. As a donor to the MLK, you are our partner in working together to meet our mission. These rights are ingrained in our culture.

  1. As we do with everyone, we will treat you with respect.
  2. If you designate your donation for a particular program or purpose, we will use it for that program or purpose.
  3. Transparency is important. You have the right to see our financial statements and know who is on our board and staff.
  4. We are good stewards of the dollars entrusted to us.
  5. We will not share, rent, or sell your personal information.
  6. We will recognize your generosity by the name(s) you prefer. If you wish to be anonymous, we will honor your wish.
  7. We welcome your questions and will answer them quickly and clearly.

Philanthropy is always a choice and never an obligation.  Thank you for donating to strengthen Newport County.
