I am legally blind, and you've been delivering food to me once a month for maybe three years since I've had cancer. I just want to tell you I appreciate the MLK Community Center. Did you know 401Gives is a statewide day of generosity celebrating Rhode Island non-profits and community? Sponsored by The Alliance for Nonprofit Impact and United Way of Rhode Island, 401Gives seeks to bring people together to support Rhode Island organizations that provide vital services to our communities. We invite you to be a part of it!

Here at the MLK Center, Community is our middle name. We have over 25 programs that served over 8,700 people in Newport County last year with crucial services in education, hunger relief, and community health and wellness. In celebration of the people we help each day, we have a goal to raise $150,000 for this year’s 401Gives Campaign.

With help from community members like you, it has been our mission since 1922 to nourish, education and support Newport County residents to improve their economic, social and physical well-being. Your gift through 401 Gives will make a difference for someone in Newport County.

When you give to 401Gives, you can maximize the impact of your generosity with matches and challenges:

401Gives matches gifts with the Early Bird Challenges when you give early, but when you give to the MLK, you get exclusive opportunities!
The MLK Board is offering a $20,000 match and will match gifts up to $2,500.
A generous friend of the Center is challenging us to get 100 donors by 4:01 p.m. on March 31 to unlock an additional $20,000
