This year marks 100 years that the MLK Center has been serving the community. This video captures the organization's history and so much more. Watch and meet just a few of the people that have been impacted by the services that are offered. We are grateful to 11th Hour Racing for the support they provided to make this video and to Sky Sabin Productions for doing such an amazing job capturing the spirit of the MLK Center.

The New Temporary Pantry is Now Open!

On Friday, September 2, the MLK's hunger service team and a handful of volunteers worked tirelessly all day to move the entire pantry and staff offices to their new, temporary location.
|

Thanks to this Herculean effort, the pantry opened as scheduled on Wednesday, September 7.
This will be our food pantry for the next nine to twelve months while our existing pantry is being expanded to meet the needs of our community.
The normal pantry hours are still in effect:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday:
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Wednesdays: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The MLK was lucky to have this team of Freshmen from Salve Regina University volunteer this week. In just two hours they did so much!
- Helped prepare Grab n' Go Soups & Sandwiches
- Make toiletry kits for breakfast clients
- Cleaned out a closet
- Broke down boxes
- Made favors for the Centennial Celebration and
- Made candy treat bags for Food 2 Friends

Help Support MLK's Amica Newport Marathon Running Team
|
We are excited to announce that MLK's Amica Newport Marathon Running Team: Christopher Strout, Ben O'Hearn and Zach Rahilly, will be serving up cocktails tonight at Knights of Columbus in Middletown. All tips they receive will be donated to the MLK. Please join us for a night full of fun, food, drinks and raffles. If you can't attend, but would still like to support the whole team or an individual runner, please make a donation using the link below.

In The Pantry
Cereal and Household Staples are in Demand

This week, the pantry could you household staples such as cereal, sugar, flour, coffee, oils, and spices.
Please bring your donations to the temporary pantry, directly across the street from MLK.
Donations are accepted
Monday – Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. To avoid pantry hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays are the best days to drop off donations.
