On Wednesday, August 17, MLK campers had a trip they will never forget thanks to our partner Sail Newport. All summer long campers have been learning to sail during weekly adventures around Newport Harbor. On a typical trip, children said they see birds, seaweed, and small fish. On this day however, they had a close up encounter with dolphins! At least five common dolphins swam along, around, and under the two sailboats.
Summer camp and programs like this, that support ocean literacy and build the foundation for children to become lifelong stewards of the environment, are made possible by the incredible generosity of friends like 11th Hour Racing.
